SCEYP 2021 thematic study
The Department for Education (DfE) have commissioned the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), working with Frontier Economics, to conduct research into workforce planning, retention and recruitment in Early Years settings. This study is a follow-up to the Survey of Childcare and Early Years Providers 2021.
Findings from this follow-up research will provide the DfE with crucial information and inform future policy.
The research will involve taking part in one telephone interview expected to last around 40 minutes. Interviews will take place between September and October 2021.
What will you ask me about?
During the interview we will ask you about:
- your experiences of recruiting and retaining staff,
- how your workforce planning might change in the future.
Why have I been selected to take part?
Earlier in 2021 your setting took part in the Survey of Childcare and Early Years Providers 2021 and agreed to be contacted again for future research. This new study is intended to learn more about some key topics relevant to early years providers.
Do I have to take part?
Taking part is voluntary but we hope that you will take this opportunity to contribute to this important study.
We guard your privacy
We will treat the information you give us in the strictest confidence under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The results collected will be used for research purposes only.
All data gathered from interviews will be anonymised before being analysed, and personal data will only be accessible to the research team at NatCen. At the end of the research, your personal information will be securely deleted.
