A full-length version of the latest report (pdf), using data from up to 2018/19 was published on gov.uk in December 2020. Some highlights include:

Sugar-sweetened soft drinks

There was a downward trend in consumption of sugar-sweetened soft drinks in all groups. For example, from 2008/09 to 2018/19 the proportion of children aged 4 to 10 years consuming sugar-sweetened soft drinks reduced by 44 percentage points.

There was a reduction of mean intake of free sugars in all age groups from 2008/09 to 2018/19. However, intake remained above the government recommendation of providing no more than 5% of total energy intake.

Saturated fatty acids

There was no change seen in intake of saturated fatty acids from 2008/09 to 2018/19. Intakes in all age groups (where the recommendation applies) continued to exceed the government recommendation of no more than 10% of total energy.

Fibre

The trend in fibre intake was small and inconsistent in direction across the different age groups from 2008/09 to 2018/19. Fibre intake remained below the government recommendations for all age groups.
