The findings from this survey are anonymised and nothing we publish will identify you. This privacy notice explains how your data collected through the survey are used and handled.

What will happen to any information I give?

Your survey answers will be kept fully confidential and will not contain any information that would be used to identify you.

The information you provide will be used for statistical and research purposes only. The results will be used to write a report on how people gamble online and offline, but it will never be possible to identify you from your data or in any reports. You will never receive any sales or marketing calls as a result of taking part in the survey.

Who uses your data?

This survey is run by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen). Although invitations to this survey have been sent by gambling operators on behalf of NatCen, your survey answers are confidential and operators will not have access to any responses. Only NatCen and academics at the University of Liverpool will be able to access the answers to your survey and any linked data, and this data will not contain any information that would be used to identify you.

Do I have to take part?

This survey is completely voluntary. You have the right to stop being part of the survey at any time without giving a reason.

Will my survey answers be linked to any other information?

We would like to link your survey answers to anonymised online gambling account data. Click here for more information on data linkage.

How long will you keep my data?

We will hold the data for research and analysis purposes only until December 2022.

Who can I contact with any queries?

If you have any queries, or want to request that we change or delete your information, contact NatCen at GamblingSurvey2021@natcen.ac.uk, or by calling 0800 652 4568.
