Consumer Protection Study

The Consumer Protection Study is a major study that aims to find out about the experiences that people across the UK have had buying goods and services over the past year. Its findings will be used to inform government policy and support for consumers, helping to make a difference to the lives of people across the nation.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is working with the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) on the Consumer Protection Study, which is a major study that aims to find out about the experiences that people across the UK have had buying goods and services over the past year, including any experiences that may have caused stress, cost money, or taken up time.

The findings from this study will be used to inform government policy and support for consumers, helping to make a difference to the lives of people across the nation.
