Statistical Research Director
Location: London or Edinburgh with office-based and flexible working options available including working from home during the pandemic
Salary: £40,000 – £54,600 (depending on experience)

We have a range of positions available, including an exciting opportunity for someone to lead and manage the team of statisticians based in our London and Edinburgh offices.
We would like to hear from candidates with experience in social or market research, government, public/voluntary sector or academia.
As a Research Director, you will provide statistical input on quantitative research projects, and direct methods research projects. You will support the Research Departments in the tendering process for research projects – both contributing to Research Proposals and being a member of the team for tendering interviews. You will also take the lead on bids for methodological work, including grant applications.
The Statistical Research Director will manage research teams on methods projects and have the responsibility of supervising the work of statisticians, contribute to their development and mentoring.
The successful candidate will have:
- Either a degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Survey Methodology, or a quantitative social science background or other discipline with substantial statistical content.
- Relevant experience of working in applied social research; for example, in market research, government, other public/voluntary sector, or academia.
- Knowledge of survey statistics, ideally including some practical experience of survey sampling and weighting.
- Familiarity with SPSS, R, Stata or a similar statistical package (with experience of scripting/coding using the relevant command language).
