Since joining the National Centre for Social Research in 2011, Jess specialised in longitudinal data management but has extensive experience working with data collected via a range of research methods. As Head of Data Management she manages a team of dedicated Data Managers responsible for ensuring survey data is delivered to a high standard, and provides advice and support to Researchers with data access and release.
Jess is passionate about providing well-described research data sets to answer questions about society and inform public policy. She is a champion of the need to maximise usage of these valuable resources but also to maintain the privacy of those who participate in the research. She is an advocate of reproducibility in statistics and wants us all to love our code.
Jess previously worked with research and evaluation teams at think tank Resolution Foundation and The Place2Be. She has ESRC-accredited research training from The Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research.
