Researcher (Health)

ScotCen

Shanna Christie (nee Dowling) is a researcher at ScotCen working mainly on the Scottish Health Survey. Her day to day work involves designing and testing questions, training interviewers to conduct the survey and take physical measures such as height, waist and blood pressure, as well as monitoring fieldwork response and analysing the data.

Shanna has an MSc from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in Social Policy and Sociology. She is interested in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and has a particular interest in research around children and young people, youth transitions, youth crime and various health topics including physical activity and the social determinants of health.
