Ruth is a mixed method Researcher and is currently working on a quantitative survey for the Direct Pay project, on behalf of Department for Work and Pensions, looking at the experiences of parents using this service.

Ruth has experience working on all aspects of qualitative projects. Ruth recently worked on a strand of the Study of Early Education and Development (SEED) on behalf of the Department for Education, looking at good practice in early year’s settings.

Ruth has also worked on evaluation projects in particular a formative evaluation, on behalf of London Borough of Islington, the Islington First 21 month’s programme aimed at integrating early year’s services.

Ruth started at NatCen in February 2015 working in the British Social Attitudes team on a review of transport related quantitative evidence conducted for the Department for Transport and working on a range of projects throughout the policy research centre.

Prior to working at NatCen Ruth worked with service users with mental health problems as a Support Worker in rehabilitative medium and high support housing services for seven years. Ruth has worked with other vulnerable groups whilst working as a Generalist Advisor for Citizens Advice Bureau.
